In Sweden, people wish each other a good continuation of the holiday season. It’s time to eat the gingerbread house and put away the decorations now, but the sentiment still applies.
With all this snow, I haven’t been so inclined to leave the house so often, but I’ve managed to get some nice pictures even through my windows. This forest dwelling bird is a “nötskrika”, Garrulus glandarius.
Windows are also useful for jumping out when snowdrifts block the doors.
I went for a walk in the forest a few days ago and had a the privilege of meeting this little fellow.
The visitor information package for the greater Miami area which I ordered in December arrived this week, so late that it’s value can only be to taunt me. Here it is still snow that dominates the landscape, though there is also ice, mud and slush in abundance. Today it feels like spring is in the air, so hopefully these pictures and memories will be all that’s left of this unusually snowy winter.
